AT&T Wireless this week became the third carrier to ship the PalmOne Treo 600, a converged device (cell phone plus PDA). The AT&T version runts on its GSM/GPRS network and includes features such as e-mail, Web browsing and text messaging.
The Treo 600 from AT&T Wireless costs $499.99 (after $50 instant rebate) with a service plan starting at $12.99 per month, AT&T Wireless said.
The Treo 600 is a quad-band smart phone (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) that lets users make and receive calls around the world, the company said. To check on what roaming countries are available, click here.
Corporate e-mail access for both Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes is provided through Good Technology and Visto Corp., AT&T Wireless said. Other features include an integrated VGA camera to send Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) messages, MP3 playback, and an integrated Secure Digital / MultiMedia Card expansion slot.
Other carriers offering the Treo 600 include Sprint (CDMA 1x version) and Cingular (GSM/GPRS).
