Wow, how time flies. Its already December, Black Friday has come and gone - uneventfully unless you were unfortunate enough to be shopping at Wal-Mart in Long Island at 5 amĀ (in case you missed that, see http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/11/28/2008-11-28_worker_dies_at_long_island_walmart_after.html). And of course, November was a full month - everything from the presidential election to the stock market tanking again ... the market finally was stable for Thanksgiving week and then down 700 points today. I think I'm ready to crawl into a hole until the world becomes sane again ... but that could be a while. Panic seems to get a life of its own.
On the software side things haven't been totally quiet either. Microsoft released the first beta for Operations Manager 2007 R2 on November 19th. Happy early Thanksgiving to everyone who's been waiting for the new cross platform capabilities, Health Explorer access through the web console, core support for Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008, considerable performance and usability improvements, and more. The authors of System Center Operations Manager 2007 Unleashed are happy to announce that we'll be testing and writing about the new capabilities of R2. (Although I'm trying really hard to wrap up System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Unleashed before going back to write about OpsMgr!)
That's the highlights of the past month. I think I'll make an early New Year's resolution to try to post to this blog more often - thanks for being patient!
