It looks like you must have missed the DataCore Software booth at VMworld, where they were showing a fully virtualized environment, from desktop (PanoLogic) to server (ESX) to storage (DataCore, along with Xiotech, Promise, and qLogic) at 8Gb FC speeds, really the first full 8Gb FC network, with the DataCore storage even being managed through the VI client. It was pretty impressive, you should have seen it.

I hope these vendors also talked about Virtual Desktop Infrastructure implications to Storage. This even adds more strain on the backend storage requirements due to the evident sprawl of enduser workstations and desktops in the enterprise.
